How long in advance do we need to book?
I usually book weddings anywhere from 2 years in advance to 6 months before the day, but if it is longer or shorter notice, get in touch anyway. If I'm free on your date, brilliant, it doesn't matter when you book.
Can we meet you?
Please! I enjoy meeting couples whenever possible and if not, we can talk on the phone/skype/facetime to iron out any specific questions you might have. I find meeting is always better though as it is easier to bounce ideas off each other.
Where are you based?
I am based in the North West of England, just south of Manchester, but cover the whole of the UK and travel abroad as well.
What does copyright mean? Can I print my photos in high resolution?
You can do anything you like with your photos, except sell them (I have never met a couple who has wanted to do this!). This means that you can print them as many times as you like (and please do print them!), share them to who ever you like, however you like, you just can't sell them.
How do we book?
Get in touch! Ideally we would meet beforehand to address any questions about your day, but to secure your date, all that is required is a signed contract and booking fee.
What does the editing process involve?
I go through every photography taken on the day, looking at each closely, to pick out the best. It is important that every photo is correctly colour balanced, brightened and darked as need be, but most importantly they have to tell your story and show all of the emotion of your day. The whole process takes longer than photographing the wedding itself!
How many photos do we get?
I usually provide 300-400 photographs, although I would never put an upper limit on it.
Do you take group photographs?
Yes I do. My advice is to decide which shots you want before the day. I'm sure most people have attended weddings where the group shots take too long, either because there are so many or because the groups are hard to organise. If you would like group shots, I usually recommend around 6 and getting your maid of honour and best man to grab the right people at the right time.
Do you backup our photos?
Yes. All of your photos are backed up in an online gallery to show off your high resolution images of the day to those friends you may not get to see in person for a while, and also on at least two local hard drives. I also go the extra mile: I store all of your photos using a process that stores your images across multiple geographic data centres with 24 hour surveillance. This is standard and how I look after my own personal photos.
Can we upload our photos to facebook?
Yes. I will provide you with full resolution images for high quality prints (the photos you will keep forever) and also social media optimised photos for easy, speedy uploads.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am fully insured with professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Do our photographs contain a watermark?
No, they do not. These are your images.
How long until we receive our photos after our wedding?
I aim to complete the processing of your images within 4 weeks of your day, this is due to the care and attention that I put into each image. Quality is paramount.
What equipment do you use?
I use a full frame Nikon camera, two in fact, on the day along with a number of different lenses and flashes if required. I also keep with me more than enough batteries and memory cards so that I am well prepared.
What if I don't like my photo being taken?
This is why I enjoy the pre-wedding shoot so much. It gives time for you to get used to being in front of the camera and for the three of us to get to know each other. Don’t worry, most people find they get nervous but it’s the natural photos that really show off those happy moments. This is why I like to work discreetly in the background, the less you see me, the better! This allows for those real moments to unravel without those cheesy, put on, smiles.
HOW LONG WILL YOU BE THERE ON THE DAY?
I will be there from bridal preparations, usually 2 hours before the ceremony begins, till after the first dance. I do not like to put restrictions on the time I spend. Moments don't happen within a given window of time. I am there to capture every beautiful moment that happens for you.
